Senator Calls On FTC To Finally Do Something About Ticketing Bots
Connecticut Senator Richard Blumenthal sent a letter to Federal Trade Commission chair Lina Khan on Friday, requesting that the consumer protection agency more consistently enforce the nearly decade-old legislation that was passed to try and stop scalpers from using bots to corner the market on concert tickets. The Better Online Tickets Sales Act (Or BOTS Act) was signed into law at the end of 2016, making it illegal to use bots to circumvent security measures and lines to purchase mass amounts of concert tickets before actual fans could get their hands on them....
