The musician previewed the anthemic track live last month before debuting it last night onBBC Radio 1.
Something in the Air is a song that really came out of nowhere, Mayberry explained in a statement.

I was in London finishing another song with my friend, co-writer and producer Dan McDougall.
Mayberry announced she would be stepping away from Chvrches to pursue a solo career last summer.
These are things that I just need to say from my point of view.
Obviously Im the narrator in Chvrches, but youre still speaking on behalf of a group.
