Bondi worked as a registered lobbyist for Qatar.
Bondi was named as part of Trumps defense team for the Senate impeachment trial in 2020.
The Justice Department investigated Gaetz over the alleged relationship, but declined to bring charges.
Gaetz has denied any wrongdoing.
